About Little Signals

Little Signals is a range of picture books, activity books and free things to do for children aged 4 to 8, and the grown-ups around them.

Four words

Fast, heavy, tight and steady. Four words a child can use for how their body feels, at home and at school. "Not sure" is allowed too.

Each story takes one everyday moment, such as a loud room, a change of plan, waiting, a worry or a mistake, and stays with it in short, plain sentences. There's a page at the back for the grown-up reading it, with a few ideas to try.

Little Bean and Big Bean

Little Bean notices how its body feels. Its leaf shows it: flicking when it's fast, drooping when it's heavy, curled in when it's tight, and gently swaying when it's steady. Big Bean is always somewhere near. Meet the beans.

Who makes Little Signals

Little Signals is made by The Regulated Human Co., an independent UK publisher started in 2026. We also publish Everyday Signals, pocket guides for the grown-ups around children.

Our books are printed to order, in the UK or close to where you live.

How we write

Short sentences, everyday moments, no scores and no streaks. Nothing we publish is a diagnosis, therapy or medical advice. If you're worried about a child, speak to your GP, health visitor or the child's school.

Regulation before optimisation.
